"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." -Isaiah 41:10

The world we live in today is something of an eternal contradiction. No matter who you are or where you come from, you will face people on one side who say that truth and right and wrong are relative. There isn't any universal right or any universal wrong. On the other side, you'll face people who say that truth and right and wrong are absoute, and there is no negotiation of that fact. Some of those people will manipulate what they tell you for their own benefit, to make themselves seem more intelligent or important. Others, the ones who really have your best interest at heart, will direct you to the one thing that spells out right and wrong. The Bible.

I think it is important, before you go any further in this site, that you know what I believe. These are the main things that I consider when I think about whether or not soemthing (or someone) claiming to be Christian, really is regardless of their denomination. These are my core beliefs.

  • There is only one God, who created the heavens and the earth by speaking it into existance. He created everything that inhabits the earth today, including Man, in six days and he rested on the seventh.
  • Jesus Christ was a historical, real person, who was born of Mary, a virgin, in Bethlehem.
  • Jesus Christ is the Son of God, wholly divine and wholly human in one man. He performed signs, wonders, and miracles during His ministry.
  • At the age of 33, Jesus Christ was taken by the religious leaders, brutally beaten and crucified.
  • After He died, He was placed in a sealed tomb where he remained for three days.
  • On the third day after the crucifixtion, Jesus literally rose from the dead and appeared to over 500 witnesses in 40 days before he Ascended into heaven.
  • Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of all of the Old Testament prophesies of the promised Messiah.
  • One day, Jesus will return for those who have truly put their trust in Him and will take them to heaven to be with the Father.
  • There is NO OTHER WAY to get to heaven except through sincere belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died to take away the sins of the world, and who rose after three days in the grave to sit at the right hand of the Father. Good works of any kind cannot get us to heaven. Only Jesus can.

I'm not a theologian. I'm definitely not a pastor, or anyone classically trained in Scriptures. But I am a Christain who wants to learn as much about God, Jesus, and my faith as I can. I want to understand this world that God has made for us. I want to get to know Jesus as my Savior and my friend more and more. I want to know God as my Father and my help in life. I don't believe that Jesus and God are to be left inside the church after Sunday services. I believe they are pertinent to our everyday lives, if only we can humble ourselves enough to ask for their help.

This is only one way Christ showed his love to us.

"Endure suffering along with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. And as Christ's soldier, do not let yourself become tied up in the affairs of this life, for then you cannot satisfy the one who has enlisted you in his army." 2 Timothy 2:3-4 (NLT)
